Reserva El Cairo

We stayed both the night before our big trek and the night after at Reserva El Cairo.  It is an eco hotel in the country outside of Salento.  It is located in the Coffee triangle of Colombia and is part of a UNESCO world heritage site.  I really wish we could have had more time here.  It is surrounded by birds, gardens, numerous hiking, biking and horse activities.  They have a wonderful restaurant on site that uses locally grown organic food items all which you can enjoy in the open air.  They also have a wonderful staff full of knowledgeable people that are happy to answer questions about treks, birds, or anything else.
