Destination Costa Rica. Day One.

The start of the trip

8:30 AM
Weather looks cooperative--No blizzard, no ice storm, no travel mishaps...
We drive the 3 hour drive to O'Hare.
We depart from Chicago on AeroMexico
We enjoy the 4 hour flight.
We watch onboard movies.
We eat tasteless, but free, airplane food
We drink Coronas--free as well.

Change from the year!

Ready to Go

We stop for a layover in Mexico City.
We go through immigration and get our passports stamped.
We wait on luggage.
We get nervous.
We stumble over our spanish vocabulary hoping to find slow luggage.
Luggage finally appears.
We rush through customs and onward to our gate.

Eric lets the girls go to the bathrooms unattended.
(I mean really....minutes until our plane departs. The girls speak NO spanish. The airport authorities speak NO english. A major international airport. They are FIVE and EIGHT....Clearly, I am a better parent....)

We depart Mexico City onwards to Costa Rica.
We enjoy another 2 1/2 hour flight.
We eat tasteless food and drink free beer.

We ARRIVE in Costa Rica.
It's now 1AM Indiana Time.
The kids are now overtired.
We go through our second round of immigrations and customs.

Head to Adventure Inn.
We go to sleep around 3 AM Indiana time after a snack of pringles and sodas...yum?
