Since tomorrow is father's day

I figured I better post this now. See, it's a little reminder to him on just what NOT to say no matter the reality that stares you in the face.

Claire, being the reasonable 18 month old she is, decided she wanted to climb the forest like trees in our yard. We have not a single tree with low branches suitable for climbing by children. However, after watching the never ending chipmunk show in our front yard, Claire decided that she was going to join them up in their treetops for a chat.

So she tried ....and tried ....and got angry. All while we, the parents, sat and watched. That's when dh, said it. "No matter how hard you try Claire...you are never climbing that tree!"

What did you just say to our young, full of determination daughter??

No matter how hard you try.....take it back! Don't squash her at this fresh young age.

He just laughed at me....and her....
