xoxo, nite nite

It was nearly nine at night. The sun was almost gone and a blue cast still filtered through the wall of glass in our bedroom. Just as every night, Claire and I lay snuggled in our big bed together. She was happily nursing with her legs tucked over my body and my arm wrapped around her warm head. Tonight, as I brushed her cheek with the back of my hand; ever so softly her lips started to smack and giggles came forth. She giggled some more and then stopped with her big brown eyes gazing right into mine. She paused only a moment before scrunching her lips together to make her kiss-kiss. I giggled as I smothered her in kisses and then told her "I love you too much." Just like Graham use to say to me when he was just talking. Then as the moment continued, in the same tone as I had just ushered, she ushered the words back. "I love you too much." Then she snuggled in just to make sure we were closer than close. She latched on for a few more sips of milk and then drifted off to sleep.
I couldn't help but think that *this* is how it is suppose to be.

Safe and sound. Adored and loved. perfection.

These are how sweet dreams are made.
