Day Seven. Beach pick is playa grande

Our trip several years ago, as seen here included time at Playa Grande. We remembered a small area where the mangroves merged to a calm inlet to the sea. At this point were lots of crabs, urchins, and sea life. Graham especially was excited for a return visit!

So even though the road to playa grande was closed after the first stop, we decided to walk to beach back to that perfect spot.

After a short walk we made it to the rocky area to find vieques progress in full force. A bridge was being built right over the favorite water spot. No longer was their a crystal clear pool to search for sea life. Dissappointed, we stuck around for only a short while. Graham still did manage to find hermit crabs. And, all the kids filled their nets with shells, rocks and sand burrs.
