early. trip day two.

day two. part one. 12.28
We woke up early. 5:30 am TOO early. We drug all of our bags to the closest cab and headed for Isla Grande Airport. Our flight with Vieques Air Link was the first one of the morning. We checked in--where the most important thing isn’t security but how much you and your bags weigh. We were assigned a seat based upon just that and waited to board our airplane. The 10 seater airplane left right on time which is always a bit surprising in the land of tropics. The kids loved the view of the ocean below as the sun filled the cabin of the plane. The short trip over to Vieques ended quickly as we all watched the approach to the runway. As our family exited the plane, the Vieques air quickly surrounded us. It was then that I realized their was no guilt in returning to this exact place once again. The scent of green foliage and humid ocean air was one of familiarity. The island such a perfect fit for our family that is was almost like home. A delicate combination of nature, adventure and luxury in the form of pure white sand beaches and salty water were just what we needed. And like home, no matter how many times you return, it is still meant to be. Resolved in this thought, I still wondered if we were out of new adventures to be found.
